　　Hi Guys,
I have a 422 tank and i want to get an arowana together with my 7 parrot fishes.Is it ok to get 1 or 2 but was advised to get 3 instead coz if 2 they tend to fight for food.1 coz tank would be full.2 coz the other would get lonely.

Get 1 or 2 what? Aro or parrot fish? I cant really understand your question. Can re-phrase?

>With your current tank size, its a matter of time in which you will need to upgrade to a larger volume tank even for one single aro not to mention getting a comm. As parrots are also high bioload churners, your filtration might be in the extreme high side.
Ultimately, to comfortably house a comm of at least 5 aros ( some even 2 or 3pcs with not much problem but 5 is the norm ), Id urge you to seriously consider getting yourself the biggest tank which you can afford assuming space in your home is not an issue here.
Width of the tank is something which cannot be compromised if youre getting into arowana grooming. Id suggest minimum 2.5" for the comfort of your aro making turns.

to get 1 aro first, is courting trouble as u will have problems finding similar sized aros to comm; have problem of it being the aggressive alpha and kill off all newly added aros etc.
